How many Democrats does it take to co-chair a political campaign?

If you think the seven-person Republican field for lieutenant governor is getting a little crowded,  just take a look at Terry McAuliffe’s latest list of campaign co-chairs.

Late last week the declared Democratic gubernatorial candidate trotted out 11 elected officials as co-chair. On Monday the list grew to 15. For those of you playing at home, here goes:

  • Rep. Gerry Connolly, Fairfax
  • Senate Democratic Leader Richard Saslaw, Fairfax,
  • Senate Democratic Caucus Chair Donald McEachin, Henrico
  • Senator Mamie Locke, Hampton
  • Mayor Paul Fraim, Norfolk
  • Hon. Brian Moran, Alexandria
  • Del. Alfonso Lopez, Arlington
  • Del. Jennifer McClellan, Richmond
  • Chair Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Sharon Bulova, Fairfax
  • Hon. Shannon Valentine, Lynchburg
  • Clerk of Court Jack Kennedy, Wise
  • House Democratic Leader David J. Toscano, Charlottesville
  • House Democratic Caucus Chair Mark Sickles, Franconia
  • Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon L. Taylor, Henrico
  • Delegate Mark L. Keam, Fairfax

“I’m honored to be joined by so many distinguished leaders from across Virginia who share my dedication to creating jobs and growing our economy through common sense solutions,” McAuliffe said in a statement.
