A former spokeswoman for Gov. Bob McDonnell is making an encore appearance in the press shop.
She left as Taylor Thornley and is returning as Taylor Keeney, having gotten married in the interim. She’ll also take over as press secretary as of July 1, a step up from her previous job as deputy director of communications.
Paul Shanks has been promoted to deputy director of communications, effective today, according to the office.
Thornley left the McDonnell administration last summer to work for Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling’s campaign for governor, which he suspended in March.
The latest shuffle follows two staff departures from the press shop. Jeff Caldwell, the former press secretary, took a job with Altria Client Services and Paul Logan, the former deputy director of communications, left to work for Sen. Mark D. Obenshain’s attorney general campaign.
